Ways to start

Pick a door that feels easy.

Pick a door that feels easy.

I believe in the power of community, and my PhD research backs it up: we learn from each other, and change is easier when you're not doing it alone.

Most of us think we're the only ones struggling, that something is wrong with us specifically. A room full of people going through their own version of the same thing proves that wrong.

First doors

Cafecito date with yourself

The simplest way in.

A small group, a warm drink and time for yourself. We start with a short practice to arrive. Then we sit down with one guest (stress, self-doubt, your inner critic), get to know it a little better and see what it has to say. You leave with one small experiment to try that week, in your own life.

No experience needed, just curiosity. You share only what you want, and coming alone is fine.

When

Coming soon

Where

Inner Focus Club

For the task you keep postponing
For freelancers and remote workers:

Wednesdays 9:30: 12:00

Bisou Social Club, Teresiastraat 147a, Den Haag. Free for members, €5 for non-members

Often we postpone a task because of what it makes us feel, not because we can't plan. So we start by settling the mind and noticing what the task brings up. Then we work together on one difficult thing, phones away, without distractions. At the end, we check in: how did it go, and what would you change next time?

Bring your laptop, your notebook and the one task you've been avoiding.

For PhDs

Fridays, 9:30: 13:00

Online. Free.

When you want to stay with the questions longer, there will be more.

Circles

Smaller groups and more conversation, with time to reflect on what you've noticed over several experiments.

Workshops

One theme over several weeks, for those who are ready to go further.

For Universities, schools and organizations

The same approach, for your students or team.

I researched practical ways to develop soft skills for improving student wellbeing and soft skills in higher education for 5 years during my PhD. For over ten years I've designed and evaluated socioemotional skills programs for students and adults in Mexico and the Netherlands, and the results of my PhD helped more than +770 students.

If your university, school or organisation wants a program on wellbeing promotion, stress, emotion regulation or focus, we can build it together around your group needs and your goals. From a single workshop to a program over several weeks, in person or online, grounded in research and rigorously evaluated along the way.

Say hello!

Whether it's a question about a cafecito or something you're not sure how to put into words yet, this is a fine place to start. I'm also happy to collaborate and create something together!

Or find me on instagram @theinner.experiment.

where I share small experiments for getting to know yourself.
